This study builds on the emergence of new gifting practices using e-hongbaos which are monetary gifts transferred between individuals made possible by digital communication platforms. is an exploratory impact these innovations intra-organizational relationships. Three types relationships considered: employee's relationship with organization, team, and manager. The findings indicate positive impacts e-hongbao at all organizational levels. authors also identify varying effects outcomes depending occasion gifting, as well mode, direction, measure. Specifically, ‘group' e-hongbao, a gamified group-gift enabled digitalization has strongest influence discuss implications for theory practice in workplace offer future research directions.
